TACLOBAN CITY | LEAF LOUNGE OF IRONWOOD HOTEL
While growing up in Tacloban City, I have never experienced rooftop dining. Simply because there was none to begin with. But today, a number has emerged and have been added to the must-visits of the city.
For
two consecutive homecomings this year, I have stayed at the Ironwood Hotel of Burgos Street, Downtown Tacloban City while our home is under renovation.
The warm welcome and the efficient hospitality service they
provide was a given. Now it’s time to lounge at the
rooftop bar and have a glimpse of the city lights and take a birds-eye view of the
structures that surround.
The
Leaf Lounge of the Ironwood Hotel is located at the rooftop. The bar serves an extensive selection of
authentic Spanish and Filipino cuisine ranging from paella, tapas, karekare and
crispy pata.
There
is a choice of al fresco or indoor dining with the cushioned seats and of
course the drinks being a comfort. We
opted for the al fresco drinking spree and unable to experience dining. But the fresh air and the experience was
worth.
The
bar’s interior design is cozy that one can lounge for hours. It is conducive for catching up with friends
as no loud music hovers and the feeling of comfort and relaxation is there. The space is ideal for intimate sessions as it is not that wide.
The
bar is open on weekdays until 11pm and last order at 10pm. During weekends, it is open until 1am and
last order at midnight. The next time
you visit Tacloban City and rooftop dining or drinking spree is your choice, do
pay a visit.
