WHAT MAKES STAR LOUNGE OF THE DISTRICT BORACAY DIFFERENT?
There
are only a few in-house restaurants that serves Brunch Buffet. For an island known for parties and non-stop drinking
sprees, mornings would never be for night owls.
When we were in Bali, Indonesia, the general manager of the hotel where
we are staying once said, that with the many hotels that sprout in the island, in
order to stay at par or ahead of the competition, the offer for breakfast
matters. And the same holds true for
Boracay Island.
The
Star Lounge of The District Boracay is one good choice for a dining experience
while at the island. The choice is not
only for breakfast but an all-day fine and casual dining to suit every guests’
preference.
THE SALAD BAR |
Brunch Buffet
Every
night has been dedicated to partying while at the island. Except for the last day where we are required
to wake up early to catch the first flight to Manila via Caticlan, our morning
routine has been to take the brunch buffet instead of the usual breakfast
buffet.
International
and Filipino breakfast favorites with hot and cold selections, fruits,
pastries, stir-fry noodles, pasta and Chinese cuisine favorites were among the
selection. The open kitchen where guests
can make their own pasta and crepe is available from 10:30AM to 1:00PM, in time
for our brunch experience.

Nursing
a hangover is made manageable with this kind of meal to start the island
exploration. I am never used to heavy
breakfast but while at the island, I refused to do what I am accustomed to.
The
Star Lounge extends to the bar and events roof deck. Aside from the complimentary cocktails, there
is a wide variety of drinks served, including fine wines and local beers. And as we settled at one corner of the roof
deck, we had a good vantage of the white beach, the towering coconut trees and
the clear waters. The perfect view of
the sunset may have been elusive during the entire duration of our stay, but
the bond with friends while drinking is priceless.
BBQ Buffet and Grilled Dinner
A
night was dedicated to test the Weekend Grill Dinner of the restaurant which will
be open to the public soon. We were
fortunate to have been invited to taste test what is about to be offered as our
dinner. BBQ samplers and anything cooked
on charcoal will never go wrong with me.

ASIAN GINGER BEEF SKEWERS |
For
grilled to order dinner, options include: chicken, pork belly, baby back ribs,
squid, prawns, Norwegian salmon fillet and local fish of the day (mackerel,
marlin or tuna). The choice of main
course includes unlimited iced tea, soup of the day, garden salad, one siding
(steamed rice or potato) and a choice of sauce – Bearnaise, lemon butter, soy and
vinegar or mushroom. A no-brainer I
opted for the prawns as main course.
The
Meduse is a unique shisha experience exclusively available in the country only
at The District Boracay. The state of
the art shisha pipes used are manufactured by Meduse Design Ltd and are
hand-made of Bohemian glass. The
philosophy is based on the innovative integration of traditional handicrafts
along with the latest manufacturing technologies and techniques. As relayed to us, the design is inspired by
the elegant organic lines which are ubiquitous throughout underwater sea life.
Choices of fresh fruit are available that will be added to the glass corpus enhancing its flavor and adding an element to the tobacco mixture. The group tried the Citrus Gang (PhP2,000.00 + 450.00 for alcoholic version) – the aroma of lemon emanated as we take turns on smoking from the pipes.

The
Star Lounge has truly become our dining area for most of our stay at the
Boracay Island. With the many offerings
it has and an elegant dining area conducive to dining and simply loitering, not
to mention the panoramic view of the beach it provides, dining experience at
The Star Lounge truly makes a difference.
