THE LANDMARK MACAU: MORE THAN THE GRAND PRIX THIS IS YOUR HOME
The
2012 Formula 1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix at Marina Bay Circuit was the last
time I was fortunate to have witnessed the motor race and it was on my birthday. I could still remember the high decibel produced
that lingered in my senses for a number of hours. Three years after, the “auto-body clock”
instilled in me made me hear the familiar sounds once again. I peeked through the window of where I was,
and there I saw the fast moving cars on one closed pedestrian lane just beside
my hotel – The Landmark Macau.
The
Landmark Macau has become one of the best hotel choices in Macau since it
started operations in November 2003 as the official hotel of the 50th
Macau Grand Prix Golden Jubilee.
Location
From
the Macau Ferry Terminal, we were provided a free shuttle service to our
respective hotels by Turbo Jet,
since we hold Grand Premier Class tickets.
Landmark Macau however, also provides free shuttle service from and to the
Macau Ferry Terminal.
The
23-storey hotel building is perfectly located in the city center (just
10-minute walking distance and 15-minute driving distance apart from the
Macau-HK Ferry Terminal and Macau International Airport) and close to most
landmarks of the city.
Every
day, I would walk from the hotel to the city center and the UNESCO Historic
Center of Macao passing by panoramic landscapes of skyscrapers and
intricately-designed façade of casino hotels.
Checking-in
was swift and I was assigned to the East Wing of the hotel where I have to
transfer from one elevator to another to reach my booked accommodation. (click here to check rates and rooms)
Alone,
I unpacked my luggage in a very spacious Superior Twin room with elegant interiors and
furnishings equipped with luxurious amenities.
Everything in the mini-bar is for free.
I took the beers in can, placed it in an eco bag, ready for the night spree with friends.
THE EAST WING |
There
are two well-kept beds of thick sheets and mattress equipped with IDD, Wifi and wired internet access, 46” LED HDTV, individual
temperature control, hair dryer, personal safe and computerized door lock
system. All guest rooms and suites
likewise feature fax machine and complete stationary set.
With
almost the same floor area as the bedroom where classy furniture set is also
positioned in one corner, the spacious bathroom has bathing and shower
facilities with gold accents on the huge bath tub making it more royal and
elegant.
Complimentary
toiletries are of a popular and expensive French international retailer brand,
L’Occitane. Now, does that sound like a
royal home?
Service
Luxurious
comfort is a given. The hotel provides exceptional
personalized service that would truly make you feel warmly welcomed. Even the receptionists are kind enough to
answer every query posed and most especially for tour directions.
Over-all,
a stay at The Landmark Macau may appear like it is beyond reach due to its
grand façade but once you get to experience a stay, there are no pretensions as
it surely feels like home.
