LAMESA ASIAN BUFFET RESTAURANT DUBAI
Filipino
food is not that hard to find in Dubai.
On every street and alley, there will always be an available food
suitable to a Filipino’s palate. My friend,
Shera, decided to treat me for a buffet serving Filipino cuisine in one of the
famed restaurants located at the 5th Floor of Asiana Hotel.
From
the name itself, Lamesa Asian Buffet Restaurant caters to mostly Filipinos
though it serves also Korean, Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine.
I KEEP THINKING OF BARBEQUE |
I stayed
at the fancy lobby of the hotel as I wait for my friend. With the humidity and high temperature
outside, not to mention a breakfast of sandwich bought at a nearby mall, I was
drooling and imagining the feast for lunch.
Finally, adobo, barbeque and
other Filipino cuisine to look out for.
MY BREAKFAST BEFORE THE BUFFET |
As
soon as she arrived, we took the elevator to the 5th Floor on the
right side of the Asiana Hotel and with reservations made, we were seated immediately. The ambiance is nowhere Arabian. Most if not all of the guests are
Filipinos. I was truly amazed of the
large Filipino community in Dubai.

The offerings
of all-time favorite crispy pata, pork
and chicken barbeque, lechon kawali and
a lot more presented on a long table at the middle made me forget that I am in
Dubai. Seldom do overseas Filipino
workers in Dubai feel homesick as they share their stories. And maybe one of the reasons is that, comfort
food is within reach.
CRISPY PATA ANYONE? |
REFRESHMENTS - GRAB AS MUCH WATER AS YOU WANT IT'S EXPENSIVE THAN GASOLINE |
I
was immediately full that I wasn’t able to try other types of cuisine. I was concentrated on the Filipino cuisine
and the colorful desserts. I even took
less pictures as I was slightly hungry.
THE DESSERT SECTION |
The
array of food on each corner representing varied Asian cuisine may be quite
limited but it is delectable and tasty.
The price is reasonable for such a buffet experience.
Lunch at AED49+ (approx.PhP637.00)
Brunch at AED89+ (approx. PhP1,157.00)
Dinner at AED89+ (approx. PhP1,157.00)
The
dim lights on one corner where we are seated makes me sleepy though. The interiors are kept simple. Nothing fancy.
I’m
not sure if they serve beer but from my current state, moving is inevitable
that I had no time asking for a beer. I
had a good lunch and that was thanks to my friend.
It
was fun dining at the Lamesa Asian Buffet Restaurant and more so, when you
catch up stories with friends on how life is, working outside the Philippines. The dining experience in fact made me
appreciate more of what I have back in the Philippines.
