QUEZON CITY | THE ASIAN FEAST AT THE BUFFET INTERNATIONAL CUISINE
The
elegant and large chandeliers that hang on a high ceiling over a two-sided
grand staircase leading to a balcony easily caught my attention. The prominent signage that declares “The
Buffet” fronts the national highway, Commonwealth Avenue to be specific,
serving as an invitation to all.
It
was a Saturday night and there’s a scheduled dinner with friends at The Buffet
International Cuisine situated at R-7 Commonwealth Avenue, Diliman, Quezon
City. Opening the door of this buffet
restaurant, the interior design has a vibe of fine dining.
Ms.
Cathy Sanchez, Marketing and Sales Manager of the restaurant fortunately was
there and warmly welcomed us. Other
friends were already full and seated in one corner. A mini-stage is set up fronting the arrays of
cuisine and corners boasting of varied types. Live acoustic performances (I
assume) are shown.
THE MINI STAGE |
A
fine-dining ambiance and excellent service abounds The Buffet International
Cuisine. “This will be an Asian feast”, I said to myself as we do an initial
walk-through of the buffet offerings before the actual dinner. When you are in the company of blogger
friends, this has become a habit when dining, we survey the area first then
feast as much as we want after. And
this dinner is no exception.
Passing
by the grand staircase, we went to the second floor of the restaurant where
their ballrooms are located. They have a
Diamond, Platinum and Grand Ballroom distinguished from capacity. There was an ongoing event on one of the
ballrooms. The facilities, exquisite
interior, stage platforms, multi-media facility and amenities can definitely
suit the prospective clients’ mood and preference. Rates are definitely reasonable. Apart from special occasions like wedding
receptions and birthdays, business conference, trainings and seminars can
likewise be arranged at The Buffet.
This
is not all about buffet after all. When
stomach was already complaining, we then feasted at the ground floor and I had
all my favorite Filipino cuisine
tasted. I seldom eat dinuguan (pork blood stew) when I don’t know who prepared the dish
but when I tasted their version, the combined sweetness of sauce and saltiness
of the pork innards was perfect.
THE MAKI SELECTION |
MORE MAKI ROLLS |
OYSTER ATTACK |
There
was a vast spread of Japanese, Chinese, Mongolian, Korean and Filipino
dishes. There’s a pasta corner as well but I was too full to even try more. I will definitely be back to try on their
pastas. The problem with buffets for me
is that I easily get full that I can’t move to consume more of what is offered.
The
grilled section was a favorite for me as well as I sample on pork, hotdog,
chicken and liver. I had to consume less
rice as I finish everything ordered to be grilled. The dish is freshly cooked by the resident chefs.
LIVER ANYONE? |
There’s
a new innovation on refrigeration that is being used by the restaurant serving
freezing iced cold beers. Wines are also
available at their mini bar in one corner.
SWEETNESS OVERLOAD |
And
to end the buffet dinner, desserts were the perfect treat of a selection you
would get confused what to pick. More
than the food it offers, dining at The Buffet International Cuisine provided a
luxurious and satisfying dining experience that comes with a reasonable price (as of June 1: PhP538.00 for weekday lunch;
PhP588.00 for weekday dinner and PhP688.00 during weekends and holidays).
A GENTLE REMINDER |
Last
call was made. In a matter of minutes,
the dinner has to end and we were full and gastronomically satisfied that we
only had one meal the following day – dinner again.
