THE FESTIVE WEEKEND AT MANILA MARRIOTT CAFÉ
The engaging
open-theatre kitchen of the Marriott Café assures every guest that only
fresh and delectable cuisine would be served on your plates. It was a weekend of buffet for the group –
dinner and breakfast.
On a
rainy Saturday night, we were bound to watch a stage play at the Newport
Theater of the Resorts World Manila. An
hour before the show we were seated at the ground floor of the Marriott Hotel
to feast on gastronomic offerings of the hotel.
There
are a number of stations at the Marriott Café.
Ranging from breads, appetizers, a variety of main courses and colorful
desserts. It is a buffet of local and
international favorites.
Seafood
buffet called “Ocean’s Harvest” (PhP2,350.00 nett per person) is the café’s
theme every Friday and Saturday nights (6:00PM to 10:30PM). Cooked on every guests’ way and style, there
is a wide selection of crustaceans and fish ready to be devoured.
Lobsters
and oysters were my personal favorites on the said dinner, after all it is not
every day that I get to have lobster for a meal. If only time is not a constraint, I should have
ordered more lobsters to be cooked in a variety. And besides, I being a certified seafood-lover,
nothing is wasted as I sample more of its seafood produce cooked the way I
wanted it. Now, I wanted to go back!
Apart
from the given seafood, Japanese cuisine in the form of maki rolls and plateful
of sushi is an alternative. The desserts were a stand out as well with
cups of ice cream ready to be served.
Morning
came. The yearning for more hours of
sleep was apparent yet we managed to be at the café in a nick of time for
breakfast.
Marriott
Café has a total of 205 seating capacity.
It features three (3) private rooms good for 8-10 persons. And on the last call for breakfast, we were
seated on one of the private rooms. From
tapsilog, pancakes, danggit, pastries and eggs benedict - typical breakfast of local and international
cuisine were offered which we engaged.
We
must be guided though of the operational hours of the Marriott Café in order
not to regret the staycation.
