A RELAXING WEEKEND AT LUXENT HOTEL
Quezon City has been my home in Metro Manila. For the past years, I have been passing by the entertainment and media district of Timog and Tomas Morato Avenue as a usual rendezvous with friends. Now, majority of my friends migrated outside the country, some opted for a domesticated life and most of my constant hangout place have closed and drastically changed into offices and banks. Change is indeed inevitable.
Just when I thought I am
familiar with Quezon City, a towering 14-storey high rise commercial building
stood and became an instant landmark in Timog Avenue, now in the name of Luxent
Hotel. It was a vacant lot years ago.
Grand but always accommodating.
The slogan of Luxent Hotel
so declares. Does it really deliver
according to how it markets itself? A
resounding YES it is for me.
I was the first one from the
group to arrive at Luxent Hotel coming all the way from office. The guards manually inspected my backpack as
I make my entrance. Then, the spacious
and swanky hotel’s foyer became a sight to behold. The play of colors on the interiors sans a
chandelier, which is common for hotels, still produced a grand entrance of a
posh hotel.
Luxent Hotel’s reception
area is a peek to what kind of weekend staycation we will be experiencing. As the slogan imparts – grand but always
accommodating.
Location
Luxent Hotel’s location is
not the usual confusing network of interconnecting pathways. It is so easy to locate that even google maps
and physical maps can be dispensed with.
With our group coming from different cities in the metro, everyone was
able to navigate the hotel with ease.
Luxent Hotel is situated at
51 Timog Avenue, South Triangle, Quezon City, Metro Manila and a walking
distance from the famed and historical Boy Scouts Memorial Rotunda linking the
Tomas Morato Avenue. The nearest public transport terminal is the MRT
GMA-Kamuning Station. The central location is further minutes away from key
government offices and the studios of GMA Network, Inc. and ABSCBN
Broadcasting, Corp.
Lush Bar and Lounge
As soon as the group was
complete, we were treated to a gastronomic late lunch at the Lush Bar and
Lounge situated at the ground floor. A
fusion of Filipino and international cuisine was presented served ala
carte. Non-stop chat ensued under a
relaxing ambiance while we indulge in the main entrées and desserts. We were warmly welcomed to the hotel by the
hospitable and friendly people from the marketing department of Luxent Hotel,
Ms. Marielle Cabaltera and their Director for Sales and Marketing, Ms. Mayette Sagales,
who likewise joined our late lunch.

The Rooms
Checking in was a
breeze. We were booked at the 7th
Floor, a smoking area, in a Standard Superior Room with 2 queen-sized beds and
an extra one, since we were five in the room.
Two adjacent rooms in groups of five were our transient abode for this
weekend. (click here to check room typesand rates)
One of the rooms' amenities include
a flat-screen TV with cable channels, enjoyed by the group as we all together
watch Filipino and Hollywood romantic-comedy films. I have to admit I was entertained. Let’s talk about hopeless romantics but a
non-believer of forever. Contradicting
isn’t it? So what.
The room also comes with a DVD player, free wi-fi internet access, in-room safe, refrigerator with mini-bar set-up, complimentary coffee and tea-making facility, complimentary bottled water with daily replenishment, complimentary daily newspaper, individually controlled air-conditioned system, spacious private bath with hair dryer and vanity mirror and a telephone facility.

Garden Café Restaurant
We made it on time as usual
before the last call for breakfast was made.
Dizziness and hangover were slightly cured by the array of breakfast
buffet served. We were then joined by
Ms. Shiela Leodones, Luxent Hotel’s Marketing Manager for our first meal of the
day. With all the friendly staff met on
the duration of our stay, they truly have an accommodating personnel apt for
the hospitality industry.

The night before during
dinner, Luxent Hotel became the instant host of Chino’s birthday celebration as
they presented a birthday cake with an ensemble of waiting staff to sing and
greet him a happy birthday.
Currently, the hotel offers an exciting package for birthday celebrants which inclusions are: birthday cake for the celebrant, 15% discount on massage, 10% discount on food and beverage, free wi-fi access and use of pool and gym. Book now to celebrate your birthday in style.

Seasons Ballroom
In this weekend stay, we
were not the only ones celebrating a special occasion, as we visit the Seasons
Ballroom of Luxent Hotel. There was a
debut and a company anniversary about to start when we passed by the hotel’s
spacious ballroom which can accommodate 200 persons. The Seasons Ballroom is pillarless which
features high ceiling and elegant lighting, where space can be configured to
suit the clients’ needs. There are two
well-appointed conference rooms as well for private meetings.
Reluxe Spa
At the second floor of the
building connected through a staircase at the back of the Lush Bar and Lounge,
we were lead to the area for spa and massage treatment known as the Reluxe Spa. Beside the Reluxe Spa is the Mezzanine floor
where a dining area can be set-up with quite a good vantage of the hotel’s
lobby and lounge area.
The Reluxe Spa has both an
ordinary room and a VIP room for massage.
Interiors were plain and relaxing.
Though not into spa treatments and massage, the room was filled by an
aroma of mint which I like and kind of rejuvenated me.
Aqua Trim Fitness Center

The Aqua Trim Fitness Center provides a kiddie pool, infinity center and a fitness center. Depending on the needs of the guests, either a pool or a fitness center may be a good place to hangout. The infinity pool and the well-equipped gym provides a panoramic view of the bustling neighborhood.
The perfect way to end our staycation was to plunge at the hotel’s infinity pool with a good vantage of the sunset and the skyscrapers of Quezon City.
The infinity pool served as
our playground. The floor area further
provides a shower room with free towels for use and equipped with bath gel and
shampoo dispensers. Truly, we were pampered
by our stay at Luxent Hotel, which you too can experience.

That swimming pool is too cool! I could just stay there the whole time and lounge as I watch the sunset. Definitely, this place is worth visiting!
