ASCENDO SUITES - PUERTO PRINCESA CITY
Puerto Princesa City is the
gateway to varied island destinations of Palawan province. With the quest to bathe along the longest
beach in the Philippines (who says Southeast Asia?) and be on board for the
first trip the next day, we decided to have an overnight stay at Ascendo
Suites – relatively a short distance from the bus terminal.
Ascendo Suites is proximate
to varied banks, convenience stores, eateries and the Provincial Hospital
(across actually). It takes a relatively
narrow stairs to reach the reception area of the hotel, as it is situated at
the second floor of the building.
The Hotel arranges free
transport service to the airport and in our case to the bus terminal (San Jose
Bus Terminal) via a tricycle. The stay
comes with a complimentary breakfast, but since we were in a hurry to catch up
the first trip to San Vicente, Palawan, (air-conditioned van) we were not able
to try their breakfast meal.
The receptionist and the
manager of the hotel were kind enough to upgrade our room to a deluxe room with
two beds. The air-conditioned room is
equipped with a cable TV and en suite toilet and bath offering hot and cold

I had a comfortable sleep at
Ascendo Suites with its thick mattress matched with clean fluffy sheets and pillow. After the long hours of travel from Balabac,Palawan to Puerto Princesa, then off to another famous destination in Palawan,
we surely need a good night sleep.
The interiors were minimal,
thus, providing a pleasant and relaxing ambiance and complemented by a
can of beer, I snored and recharged myself for the exhaustion.
