A WEEKEND WITH A GREAT VIEW AND FOOD: TAAL VISTA HOTEL TAGAYTAY
The last time I had a weekend getaway at Taal Vista
Hotel was when I attended a wedding for a good friend of mine and a fraternity
brother in law school. It was one of the
relaxing moments as I recall, because everything we need for a short vacation
was within the confines of the hotel. We
had no time to wander (or we ditched the idea) of roaming around the city.
On the same experience I had years ago, I am back at
the Taal Vista Hotel together with my travel buddies. And as expected, this will be mostly of food
tasting and lounging with a view of the famed Taal Lake and Volcano.
DELUXE
QUEEN ROOM
The Sky Ranch was a constant daily view and we were
assigned at a Deluxe Queen room with one queen bed and one single bed. The 30-sqm room became our refuge for the
rainy weather while in Tagaytay City. It
has all the basic room amenities that even contributed to the laziness for us
to wander.
I commend the room and housekeeping service of the
hotel as well, for being prompt and attentive to all our needs.
LOBBY
LOUNGE
We arrived late in a Friday evening due to heavy
traffic. It was almost midnight. And as expected, in-house restaurants are
already closed for us to be served our dinner (very late dinner).
Fortunately, there is the Lobby Lounge to the rescue
serving an equally gastronomical experience, though not on full meals. The Lobby Lounge is known as a perfect
setting for guests to enjoy house-blended cocktails and fine selection of
wines.
The Lobby Lounge was a good introduction of how
elegant and posh the service and stay will be at the hotel. The architectural design was remarkable that
makes the lobby lounge spacious, providing a good view of the Taal volcano.
VERANDA
For the duration of our stay at Taal Vista Hotel, the
Veranda has served as our kitchen. The
Veranda is one of the in-house restaurants of the hotel, where our
complimentary buffet breakfast is served.
Aside from being spacious, the view itself is also a good factor while
dining at the Veranda.
The variety of continental and Filipino heirloom
dishes while enjoying the afternoon breeze and the panoramic view of the Taal
Lake and Volcano is one of its major selling points. The Veranda is an all-day dining restaurant
and is open daily from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
STRATEGIC
LOCATION
Tagaytay City has a lot to offer and though Taal Vista
Hotel may be quite far from the city center and the commercial activities, it
has something unique to offer for its guests – an experience that is not only
within the confines of the hotel but of the nearby restaurants and landmark
attractions.
Guests of the hotel are given a private access to the
Sky Ranch, which could be arranged with the hotel’s customer service. The Sky Ranch is an amusement park replete with
traditional and usual carnival rides for kids and kids at heart, restaurants
and souvenir shops. The Sky Eye (Ferris
wheel) is said to be one of the biggest in the country and has served as a
landmark in Tagaytay City.
And for concerns on drinking spree, as the hotel seems
to be isolated from the other bars and restaurants of the city, there is the
newly opened The Barracks Food Camp.
Truly, a stay at the Taal Vista Hotel can be marked as
one for comfort, convenience and a true definition of a complete-package stay.
