DREAMHOUSE AT CENTURY LANGKAWI BEACH RESORT
A wooden house surrounded by
a tropical rainforest and atop a private beach featuring beautiful French doors
that open to private balconies and where a breathe of fresh air is conventional,
makes the last setting of my vacation in Langkawi Island, Malaysia.
The Century Langkawi Beach
Resort Villas made my dream house come into reality. It may not be titled under my name but at
least I now know how it feels to live on such when realized.
SEAFRONT ROOM VILLA
A 52-square meter room with
a private balcony became an instant comfort on one afternoon. After checking-in, we were ushered by a golf
cart from the hotel’s lobby descending to the beachfront area, where our villa
is situated.
The fresh air and the cool
afternoon breeze made me go in deep slumber.
I have never had a quality siesta for
a very long time. The king-sized bed with soft and clean duvet aided my quality
sleep. The room comes with a blackout
drapes and curtains as well but I opted to have the French doors open.
I was assigned alone in this
non-smoking air-conditioned room that comes with a climate control and a daily
housekeeping service. There is free-wifi
and an LCD TV with satellite channels, giving guests the chance to lounge on
the sofa while watching TV.
One of the outstanding
features of the room is its layout. It
is so spacious and bathroom is uniquely positioned facing the French doors of
the balcony that leads to a sea view.
The private bathroom has a separate bathtub and shower provided with
bathrobe and slippers and of course, the complimentary toiletries.
There is likewise a mini-bar
and a coffee/tea maker. Since we are far
from the city center, we have anticipated that we won’t be going out anytime we
want to, and so bought supplies and of course, dozens of beer in cans. Langkawi Island is duty-free (no taxes) and
supplies comes in cheap cost.
At night, the balcony turned
into a bar for us. It was so
convenient. After the long hours of
drinking spree, in just a few steps is our lair.

FACILITIES
The spacious reception area
and lobby of the hotel can be a good venue for lounging as well. Internet access is faster at this area and
usually we gather at the lobby for checking emails and updating our social
media accounts through the uploading of photos.
In addition, Century
Langkawi Beach Resort has a private white sand beach and a large infinity pool.
The pool bar also adds to the charm of the area and the possibility of lounging
for longer hours as we people-watch and share stories.
The wooden boardwalk that
surrounds the infinity pool complements well with the natural backdrop of the
facility. There is a well-landscaped
garden and natural coves surrounding the area as well. Staying at the hotel feels like having more
intimate encounter with nature.
RESTAURANT
Our complimentary breakfast
was served at the hotels’ in-house restaurant, which is adjacent and a few
steps downward from the reception area.
The restaurant provides a
good vantage view of the Pantai Kok
(Kok Beach). Its ambiance is homey and
provides a wide range of Asian cuisine.
SERVICE
Efficient and quality
service is expected of Century Langkawi Beach Resort’s personnel. The prompt service is commendable as well and
even for asking directions, we can count on them.
It was so unfortunate that I
have to leave early and only did the overnight stay but if not for work
commitments, I could have stayed longer together with my friends.
My over-all stay was
good. It really felt like home. Away from the city center and with nature’s
purest sounds being heard of – the splashing of waves and the chirping of birds,
Century Langkawi Beach Resort is a representation of my dream house. For now, one of the memorable destinations I
had with my travel buddies.
