MARRIOTT GRAND BALLROOM: THE SWEET DETAILS OF CREMA
For
once in a blue moon, I lounge at coffee shops sans the coffee.
In a
not so ordinary Saturday, I will be sharing the table with my childhood friends
in a sophisticated set-up of an upscale gourmet coffee shop.
We
were seated at one of the famed dining shops of the newly opened Marriott Grand
Ballroom across the Marriott Hotel – Crema Restaurant.
Crema
Restaurant’s ambiance is conducive for short meetings, a tete-a-tete, a quick break and chat with friends. Interiors are kept simple which makes the
dining experience relaxed. Spaces of
dining tables provide the much needed privacy though the deafening silence of
the hallways inevitably makes you overhear the next tables’ conversation.

No
one in the group ordered coffee. All are
for chillers.
We
had my god daughter with us who enjoyed the interiors of the coffee shop
running and hopping from one table to another.
The shop is child-friendly and definitely advisable for the entire
family. The spacious and well-lit
interiors can make you loiter for hours which was actually our case.
Cakes,
bread, sandwiches and pastries were the main offerings of the shop. Serving is actually huge that it is best to
be shared. We had a variety of orders so
we can taste almost all the culinary masterpiece of Crema Coffee Shop. No duplication of orders.

I am
not a fan of cheesecakes but their version is actually good that I cannot taste
its sourness, more so that it is topped with fruits.

A
chocolate cake will always be my favorite.
But their Flourless Chocolate Feuilletine is a standout. I remember tasting the same at Four Seasons Hotel Macau and it was consumed on a number of saucers. The cake is coated by hazelnuts that we
associate with the famed Ferrero.

With
the serving size and the cozy ambiance, we were more than satisfied and
full. And just when we were about to
leave, we were informed that there is a complimentary yogurt.
The
yogurt comes with a choice of syrup and toppings. Just like cheesecake it is the least that I
would order for dessert or snacks. But the
willing exception is Crema’s yogurt.
The
coffee shop experience seemed like a full course meal. Crema on one afternoon was a perfect treat
for us. A great rendezvous for a
birthday celebration of one of my friends and an instant reunion with childhood
friends back in my hometown.
