AM I OLD FOR DISNEYLAND?

Once upon a time, we worry not for the days ahead of us.  And even believed that there’s such a magical place where dreams do come true and at the end we’ll always live happily ever after.  A thing called forever as they so declare.

The characters of Walt Disney has comforted and somehow entertained us.  Not all may have access to their stories or opted not to be immersed at the very least, but no matter what, everyone I suppose is familiar with the characters Minnie and Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, the Disney princesses who patiently waits for their prince charming and a lot more to mention.  In one of the most popular theme parks of the world, they all come alive and make one feel that for the first time in forever there’ll be magic, there’ll be fun.

That lyrics of the song "For the First Time in Forever" lingered in me as I heard it played over and over again while we continuously astonish ourselves at the Hongkong Disneyland Park and Resort.


This is not the first time we’ve been to Hongkong Disneyland Resort.  But really no visit is the same.  There are always new installations and rides, not to mention the new memories created.



With the vast hectare of property and the queue on each show/ride, it is really impossible to try all that the park offers for one day.  A map is further available for easy navigation of the theme park.  But a must for every visitor is to witness the Flights of Fantasy.

Being sleepy heads that I and my siblings are, we arrived at the Hongkong Disneyland Park at late afternoon yet in time for the parade of Disney characters.  The organizers have cleared up the cobblestone streets of the Maine Street and requested spectators to be on the designated area.  We were situated at a good vantage.  I can see from a distance in a parallel position the castle of Sleeping Beauty, which is the stage for the anticipated fireworks display to happen a few hours after.


Colorful floats and graceful dancers then passed by, together with the Disney characters.  I must admit I was entertained.  Little children beside us danced with the beat of the drums.  It was festive.













After the parade we walked on to discover more of the Hongkong Disneyland Park.  We revisited some favorite rides and shows at the Adventureland and the Fantasyland. And these are:

Adventureland

Jungle River Cruise

 Mad Hatter Tea Cups
Open: 9:30AM to 9:00PM





Mickey’s Philhar Magic
Open: 9:30AM to 9:00PM


It’s a Small World

For complete list of rides, click here to check the resort’s website.  The Space Mountain was a surprise for me when I first visited the theme park.  With this recent visit, it was the Jungle River Cruise. 


There are restaurants as well within the park, so there’s nothing to worry if you spend the whole day at the Disneyland Park.

We have to position ourselves at the front seats of the Sleeping Beauty Castle by 7PM to have an unobstructed view of the fireworks display, which show starts at 8PM daily.  Thus, the limited rides we had.

Before the fireworks display started, there was a parade of Disney characters on laser lights.  It was amazing and grand!







At 7PM, we were at the best vantage, the seats we all wanted, front row to be specific for the fireworks display at the Sleeping Beauty castle.  Thousands converge at the said area.








 
Even with the limited time we had, we were able to witness the main highlights of the daily shows at the Hong Kong Disneyland Park.  Even for adventure seekers, the park is indeed a must place to visit. 

And so, am I really old for Disneyland?

Definitely not.
