THE REFURBISHED HERITAGE HOTEL MANILA AND RIVIERA CAFÉ
From years ago, I had my staycation experience at
Heritage Hotel Manila together with my parents and siblings. The casino was then operating under
PAGCOR. It was the simplest of all
staycation experiences I had. It needs
renovation at that time to keep up with the competition and the needs of
the demanding clients.
Today, the façade maintains its old charm with a more improved,
pleasant and comfortable staycation experience, not to mention the interiors
more elaborate and stylishly modern.
At
the intersection of EDSA and Roxas Boulevard, the Heritage Hotel Manila is a
2-minute walk from a bus stop, 2 km from SM Mall of Asia and accessible to
international and domestic airports.
ROOMS
The rooms are adorned by traditional furnishings and marble
bathrooms with cable TV, wifi, mini-bars, tea and coffeemakers. In this recent staycation, we were booked in
a spacious Club Room. Room rate
inclusions are: daily breakfast, NDD/IDD
telephone access, broadband internet access, computer and facsimile port, TV
with 62 cable channels, pay-per-view movies, coffee and tea making facilities,
mini bar, in-room personal safe, marble bathroom with shower, telephone, hair
dryer, cable television, private bathroom, hot and cold shower and
complimentary bathroom amenities.
The room comes with a veranda giving a panoramic view of the
city – its skyscrapers and nearby landmarks.
We also had access to the Millennium Club (executive lounge),
which may appear simple as compared to other executive hotel lounges but
provides special food treats as well to select guests. We had our light snacks and cold drinks
before we head out to the weekend’s highlight- videoke session on a nearby Japanese-style karaoke.

RIVIERA CAFÉ
The Riviera Café of the Heritage Hotel Manila is one the
restaurants in the metro that is halal-certified. Depending on season, they do have a lot of
themes to offer and they do deliver faithfully.
Filipino Fiesta is the theme. Like a banquet offering traditional and
classy Filipino food – from main dishes to desserts, we were treated to a
sumptuous lunch treat. I love the
choices being offered. Most are my
favorites and I should say, all were every Filipino or Filipino at heart favorites'.
The buffet has varied stations to choose from. Dishes cooked in claypot (palayok) were among the highlights featuring adobo, ginataang kalabasa with alimasag
and a lot more. The dishes were
regionally represented as well. Take for
instance, curacha from Zamboanga and
the Pancit Malabon.
Faithfully serving to what the theme of the restaurant is, I am
definitely sure they will live up to whatever they commit in terms of authentic
gastronomic experience. And we hope to
be back for other themes of the restaurant.
