RAMAYANA RESORT AND SPA: THE MODERN BALINESE IMMERSION
The buzzling street life, stalls and shops of
both cheap finds and branded outlet stores occupied by a number of tourists on
barefoot with surfboards on tow served as my recollection of the Kuta Beach in
Bali. A year ago, we only spent an
afternoon lounging on the shores of Kuta Beach with of course, bottles of beer. There was a feeling of wanting for more but
time says otherwise.
It was fortunate that this time around, our
home in Bali is a 5-minute walk to Kuta Beach and accessible to the modern
Balinese lifestyle – of shops, bars and restaurants. The Ramayana Resort and Spa was and will
always be a home for me.
EXECUTIVE
DELUXE ROOM
Featuring contemporary Balinese furniture and
equipped with a king-sized bed including satellite television channels,
mosquito net and a private balcony facing the city, all alone I was booked on
an Executive Deluxe Room.
Standard room amenities and features are
likewise available such as individually controlled air-condition, 42-inch smart
TV with international channels, in-room safe deposit box, daily housekeeping,
room service, coffee/tea maker, complimentary 2 bottles of mineral water daily,
DVD player, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, free wifi and daily afternoon
tea on some promotions.
Our room is situated at the 4th
floor of the Western building, housing all executive deluxe rooms. With such well-appointed rooms in a modern
building located at the center of Kuta, there are instances I am a bit disoriented
if I’m still in Bali or in another bustling city. But the accents of the room and the detailed
interiors of our room reminds me I am still in Bali.
GABAH
RESTAURANT
Despite the modern Balinese ambiance, one of
the hotels’ in-house restaurant provides a traditional atmosphere of
dining. Offerings are actually a fusion
of traditional and modern Indonesian cuisine.
This is an-all day dining restaurant open from 6:30AM to midnight daily.
It becomes even more relaxing that dining is
complemented by the sound of the ponds’ flowing water beside the
restaurant. The interiors and fixtures
as well feature Balinese designs and traditional Indonesian cultural heritage.
Our complimentary breakfast is served at the
said restaurant which makes a good introduction for the daily routine while in
Bali. The service staff are attentive
and so far, I never encountered any problem on our concerns, which makes the
restaurant tourist-friendly.
We had a feast for dinner at the said
restaurant on our first night at Bali.
Exhausted from the trip from Lombok and a short stroll on the nearby
Kuta beach, it was but fitting that we treat ourselves like royalty in the form
of a bountiful Indonesian cuisine.
Food. Service. Accommodations. All were perfect. The stay at Ramayana Resort and Spa for three
days truly defined what a modern Balinese immersion for tourists like me is.
