SPEND THE NIGHT WITH THE TRAVELERS AT PINK MANILA HOSTEL
On a weekend, we usually go out, attend parties or go bar hopping where our movements are slowly dictated by the rhythm and loudness of the music that abounds, not to mention the overflowing cocktails and beers which consumption increases as the night turns into daybreak.
We
oftentimes meet strangers on such party places.
But there is one party place
devoid of loud music. Only pure
conversation, never-ending exchange of travel stories and current events’ opinion
is present but the alcohol intake is a constant. This is the scenario one Saturday night as we
stayed in one of the famed hostels of Manila – Pink Manila Hostel.
Making
friends from random sojourners is the selling point of Pink Manila Hostel. The space of the communal area is sufficient
enough for guests and friends to converge and converse. On whatever the interest of the guest is,
there will be a space for one’s business.
The corners can be a good lair for book readers. And even a billiard table is set up for those
interested.
In
our case, we just stayed at the sofa situated at the corner of the communal
area and conversed with random guests as they change every hour, and us constantly taking down more and more bottles of beer each time. The short conversations with varied nationals made it even more
interesting. Others just dropped by to
meet friends who are guests of the hostel while some guests went out to check
the night life of the neighborhood. We were invited to join a group but we opted to laze and continue the drinking session.
The
reception area is open 24 hours and manned by attentive English-speaking staff
which makes your needs easily addressed.
The mini-bar and the refrigerator full of beer and sodas adjacent to it
is just the perfect positioning for a weekend drinking spree.
There
is a swimming pool open until two in the morning that encompass a portion of
the space at the 5th floor. I
was the last one to call it a night, that was around two in the morning (I
guess) and I saw guests swimming and still having fun. With a hostel offering a swimming pool, it says a lot on its character don't you think? Can you name hostels in the metro which has an indoor pool?
Breakfast
is free from 7AM to 10AM. But in a
matter of course, we didn’t make it on time.
Fortunately, the hostel is accessible to a lot of eateries and
commercial establishments.
The
dormitories can accommodate up to eight (8) persons. It is air-conditioned with
a private bathroom and in-room lockers. (PhP570.00 per person) I had a comfortable sleep then and I didn’t
even know the exact time I slept. It was
a quality sleep for me.
Pink
Manila Hostel is situated at the 5th floor of an old residential
building which façade has a charm of its own.
The moment you step out of the elevator, the vibe of a legit travelers
lounge is immediately felt.
The
hostel is indeed highly recommended for travelers who wants a quiet
neighborhood yet the friendly atmosphere conducive to “make-your-own-party” scene can be obtained.
