CRIMSON HOTEL FILINVEST CITY MANILA: GOING SOUTH ON A WEEKEND
Majority
in the group are from the north of Metro Manila. Seldom do we converge in the south especially
at the southernmost part like Alabang of Muntinlupa City. But
Crimson Hotel Filinvest Manila is the willing exception.
Upon
arriving at the ground floor of the Crimson Hotel, a concierge area awaits
every guest. The spacious and elegantly
designed lobby and reception area is situated at the 8th floor. This has become a trend for most luxury
hotels, according to my travel buddies. But
this is actually the first time for me to experience.
The Lobby Lounge
Checking-in
was done swiftly while we had our afternoon tea and as we wait for other
friends to arrive. The lounge is filled
with paintings of some renowned artists and elegantly designed to provide a
soothing ambiance. Nibblers and dessert
samplers were also served, which afternoon session – of tea, coffee concoctions
and wines – can be experienced even by non-guests of the hotel.

It
is a perfect place for business meetings as well with a tranquil surrounding
and lightings that would not make you sleep.
After hours of non-stop conversations and catching up, we went to our
assigned rooms to settle and prepare for dinner.
LOBBY INTERIORS |
THE LOBBY |
Café
Eight is the hotels’ main restaurant.
Upon entering the café, there is a mini-bar that is cozy and so tempting
for alcohol intake. Our dinner and breakfast
the following day was served at the restaurant.
THE BAR AT CAFE EIGHT |
Interiors
are kept simple but the restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate one
hundred ten (110) diners. There is a
private dining area for those who opt for exclusivity and for social gatherings
with a seating capacity of sixty-eight (68) and private rooms good for 8
persons each.

BREADS |
Café
Eight serves contemporary international buffet with a mix of Mediterranean,
serving cuisines from Southern Europe to Middle Eastern regions. The pastas
and desserts are also a must-try when dining. There is a wide selection for the main course
and that nothing is wasted for me. Everything is delectable.
THE MAKING OF A PASTA |
We
had our dinner and brunch (breakfast-lunch) fully satisfied. It is a given that
we are always late in going to bed, and so, we are fortunate that we don’t have
to wake up in a hurry for breakfast time since it was adjusted until 11AM for
the group. I am uncertain if the same
applies to all guests but we are fortunate that management has given us the
leeway for our convenience and comfort of stay.
The Deck Bar and the
Swimming Pool
The
Deck Bar is the best place for us to unwind after a stressful working life. With bottles of beer and unlimited cocktails
availed through a promo of PhP499.00, the drinking spree lasted for a number of
hours over open-air loungers.
As
expected, we were the last guests of the Deck Bar on a very early Sunday
morning before we went back to our respective assigned rooms. We did enjoy the stay at the deck bar (isn’t
it obvious?) and went beyond the operating hours (our apologies and grateful
for the consideration and understanding).

THE DECK BAR |
There
is a wide selection of ala carte dishes, specialty drinks, wines and spirits as
well. The deck bar is situated adjacent
to the well-designed swimming pool that is perfect for relaxation.
OPEN-AIR LOUNGERS |
THE SWIMMING POOL |
Before
we check-out, we had our usual swimming routine. The swimming pool is only for guests of the
hotel.
The Rooms
THE WELCOME TREAT |
We
were assigned to a non-smoking Deluxe Room with customized twin bed layout and
a good vantage of the Alabang area thoroughfare. The well-maintained room is equipped with a
40 inch flat screen television, a DVD player and high-speed internet
access. The room comes with an in-room
safe, iron and ironing board, in-room refrigerator, complimentary newspapers,
tea/coffee maker and a daily housekeeping service. (see other room types and rates)
THE DELUXE ROOM |
WORK SPACE AND TELEVISION |
The
stay at Crimson Hotel is probably one of the most relaxing and provides a sense
of homeliness to the point that we never went out of the hotel for the two-day stay. The delicate linen and pillows was so
conducive to sleeping that had it not for the meals, we could have hibernated
the whole time. We settled on one of the
assigned rooms for a chat, film showing, fast food delivery service and flight
bookings.
The
en suite bathroom comes with cotton bathrobes, hair dryer, lighted
make-up/shaving mirror and slippers which I have used the whole time since I
was unable to bring one.
Service
Service
is personalized, prompt and efficient. A
luxury hotel more than the amenities is highly commendable for me when I am more
than satisfied of the service, if it exceeded my expectations.
With
the smiling faces starting from the receptionists, restaurants’ waiting staff,
busboy, utility staff and management, the mood is lightened up and makes the
stay even more memorable. Though the
hotel is quite a distant from where we all live, it was worth the distance.
