CEBU CITY MARRIOTT HOTEL: WHERE BUSINESS MEETS PLEASURE
Business as usual. After the
continuous trips I had in Southeast Asia with my favorite travel buddies, I am
back again at the financial district of Cebu City for some legal representations.
I am fortunate to have been booked at a luxurious hotel where an upscale
financial district complemented by shopping, recreation and leisure activities
is right at the doorstep.
Finally, I will be able to experience the luxurious comforts and
hospitality of Cebu City Marriott Hotel.
The Ayala Mall in Cebu City is the landmark to the hotel. Upon arrival at the Mactan International
Airport from Singapore at around 6 in the evening, I hailed a cab and informed the driver of my destination. It was a breeze as the
hotel is known. In no time after passing
by the 24-hour security, I was ushered to my room after
presentation of identification cards at the reception area.
GUEST ROOM
I immediately gazed upon the glass window as soon as I entered my
room. The room was overlooking the
Terraces, Ayala Mall. Equipped with a
fast complimentary wireless high-speed internet connection, I opened my laptop
and set up my work station. It was
spacious and conducive for both business and pleasure.
The bedding is the same as that in Marriott Manila. The signature bedding was so comfortable that
after a few minutes of working, I had a quality nap. I also commend how the headboard, lampshade and the carpet design complements. Stylish I must say.
Before any meal while at the hotel, I was engrossed at watching shows in
the LCD-screen television while lying down in bed. It was a routine I have been longing for a
long time. And I am thankful that the opportune time has come while in Cebu
City.
The king-size bed with clean pillow top mattress and duvet is rightly
positioned at the center of the 32sqm air-conditioned room. The room comes with eclectic furniture and
furnishings. The ottoman in one corner
has served as my work station at times.
An alarm clock is likewise provided, in-room safe, outlet with dual
voltage adaptors and a desk, writing/work station with ergonomic chair and
electrical outlet.
The Guest room has an ensuite toilet and shower room featuring wall and
floor tiles made of marble. It also comes with a shower/tub combination. The bathroom is spacious equipped with all
the complimentary toiletries, hair dryer and slippers.
To complete the room amenities, there is a mini-refrigerator as well and
a coffee maker/tea service and of course the complimentary bottled water.
The iron and ironing board is likewise useful especially to prepare my
suit for the next day’s hearing in court.

GARDEN CAFE BY MARRIOTT
The all-day dining in-house restaurant of the hotel provides panoramic
view of the well-landscaped garden.
Offerings include Asian cuisine of Thai, Indian and Filipino cuisine.
Cebu City is known for lechon (roasted suckling pig). When I told my friends I’m staying at Cebu
Marriott Hotel, majority of them recommended that I try the hotel’s version of lechon
belly. And the succulent meat did
not disappoint.
I had my complimentary breakfast and dinner at the said restaurant. The cheerful faces and the attentiveness of
the waiting staff cannot be discounted.
They will assist you in your needs and even make recommendations on what
to try out. It was a personalized service as if you had a butler in tow.
SERVICE
Efficient, prompt and quality service.
This is what I have experienced in my overnight stay at Cebu City and
specifically in my transient abode - Cebu City Marriott Hotel.
From the reception area up to the housekeeping, they will make you feel
welcome and without intimidation, you can address your concerns
immediately. The hotels’ staff can
handle all types of guests, ranging from tourists to business executives.
With the warm hospitality service I have experienced, I shall definitely
be back in my new home in Cebu City - The Cebu City Marriott Hotel.
