SAN JUANICO PARK GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

One of the emerging tourist destinations of Tacloban City, Leyte is this 18-hole golf course known as the San Juanico Park Golf and Country Club.

This is truly a paradise for golfers and an eco-tourism site worthy of visit.

For a provincial life, uninhabited and vast tracts of land is a usual scenario.  It is thus a challenge to transform this terrains into the unusual.  And the management of this golf course has made it possible.

The site is not only ideal for golfers but for wanderers as well.  It is a home of well-landscaped gardens with an olympic-sized swimming pool and a hotel that sits on top of a hill, overlooking the manicured gardens.

But what makes this golf course different from other golf courses in the Philippines is the fact that San Juanico Bridge is a site to behold for golfers and wanderers, an architectural wonder that is worthy of visit in the provinces of Leyte and Samar.

I am no golfer but the tranquility of the place and the bonding with my parents back then was a surreal experience.

The place is readily accessible from Tacloban City but will usually need a private vehicle as public transport is still unavailable.

When in Tacloban City, the site is truly an option for relaxation and not only for a tee.
